Amber Dahlén: Viola
Amber has been playing her instrument for 12 years and has performed with the CSO for 7 years. She is also accomplished on the violin and the piano.
Amber earned her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and her Master of Music Education from the University of Illinois. She has additional studies completed at Ohio State and the University of Iowa.
She has studied with the following instructors: Deb Dahlén, Dr. Susan Stone, Nobuyashi Yaouda, Si Fei Cheng, Carolyn (Meyer) McCall, Carrie Reining, and Marjory (Wirth) Noble.
Her previous orchestra experiences include time with the Fox Valley Youth Symphony, Chippewa Valley Symphony, Blue Lake Festival and Chamber Orchestras, Dubuque Symphony and Friends of Chamber Music.
In addition to the CSO, she is currently performing with the Peoria Symphony, Augustana Symphony, Knox-Galesburg Symphony, Josh Duffee Orchestra, Quad City Music Guild, and the 8th Avenue String Quartet.
Amber belongs to the following music organizations: MENC, ASTA, IMEA (District 2 Orchestra Chair), and Illinois Ambassadors of Music.
Amber gives private lessons and is the Orchestra Director for Moline School District teaching strings - 5th grade through 12th.
