Jerry Henry: Violin
Jerry has been playing the violin for nearly 40 years; he is also proficient on the viola.
He has earned degrees from several institutions: BME from Wartburg, MME from Southwest Oklahoma State University, and an MBA from University of Iowa.
Jerry's orchestra experience includes stints as Assistant Concertmaster with the Waverly Symphony, Pan Am Symphony, and the Rio Grande Chamber Orchestra. He has served as Concertmaster with SWOSV Orchestra. In addition to these positions, he has performed with the Cedar Rapids Symphony and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestras.
He has received several honors, among which are Who's Who of America's Teachers, Outstanding Teacher by San Diego State University, and Iowa String Teacher of the Year.
Jerry belongs to the ASTA - American String Teachers Association.
He counts the following as highlights in his career: Singing at Cork International Choral Festival and being selected for All-State Orchestra.
Jerry gives private instruction and is an orchestra teacher in the Davenport schools.
