Benjamin Logan: Trumpet
Benjamin has been playing the trumpet for more than 27 years and has been with the CSO for 16 years.
He attended the University of Northern Iowa where he earned his B.M.E. degree and VanderCook College of Music where he received his M.M.E. degree.
Benjamin has studied with several noted teachers including Mike Fee, Steve King, Dr. Randy Grabowski, Dr. Marcellus Brown, and Dr. Charles Menghini. His previous orchestral experiences include stints with the Clinton High School Symphony Orchestra and the University of Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra.
He has performed with other musical ensembles in the area: River City Municipal Band, Riverside Brass, Sterling Municipal Band, Clinton Showboat Pit Orchestra, and Morrison Community Theater Pit Orchestra.
His musical honors include Iowa All-State Alternate, N.E.I.B.A. Honor Band, and as soloist with the Clinton High School Wind Ensemble.
At present, he works as a music teacher at an elementary school in Clinton, a position he considers one of the highlights of his career along with his solo with the Clinton High School Wind Ensemble.
Benjamin gives private lessons. He belongs to two mucic organizations, the I.B.A. and N.E.I.B.A.
