Brian Dollinger is in his ninth season as the Music Director and Conductor for the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Music Director and Conductor of the Clinton Symphony Orchestra. He has been praised here and abroad by audiences and musicians alike:

Mr. Dollinger has conducted the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, the Marion Philharmonic, Idaho Falls Symphony, and the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. His previous conducting positions have included conductor of the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra, assistant conductor of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, and Music Director of the East Central Indiana Youth Symphony Orchestra. He returns to the Northwest Indiana Symphony this March and April.
His passion for conducting, teaching, and mentoring led to six years as Music Director and Conductor of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra at Bradley University and a three-year appointment as the conductor of the Central Illinois Youth Symphony.
Mr. Dollinger is a frequent conductor and clinician for various youth string festivals, competitions, and workshops. In 2008 and 2011, Mr. Dollinger was invited to teach and conduct at the Illinois Music Educators Association’s District 3, and District 2 and 8 orchestra festivals. He will be a guest clinician at the Davenport Orchestra Festival in March.
He has participated in various prestigious conducting workshops including the League of American Orchestras, the International Academy of Advanced Conducting, and the Conductor’s Institute of South Carolina. He has studied with Leonid Korchmar, Oleg Proskurnya, Adrian Gnam, Manuel Alvarez, Larry Rachleff, Glenn Block, Leonard Atherton, and Tomasz Golka.
Mr. Dollinger graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s and master’s of music degrees. During his doctoral studies at Ball State University, he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Lambda Honor Society and received numerous other awards from the university.
Mr. Dollinger and wife, Rei Hotoda, are the proud parents of twelve-year old Arianna and thirteen-year old Constantine and one-year-old Sophie Ann, who was born in March 2012.
