Kelly’s
busy and fast-paced career has been highlighted by numerous
accomplishments and a growing list of performing opportunities. In
addition to her recent performances with the Cleveland Orchestra, Kelly
is principal horn of the Battle Creek Symphony (MI), Quad City (IA),
Peoria (IL), and Kenosha (WI) symphonies. As a freelancer, she has
performed with Light Opera Works of Chicago, Ars Viva! Symphony
Orchestra, Lake Forest Symphony, Tower Brass of Chicago, Chicagoland
Pops, Elgin Symphony, and recently performed as a soloist with the Mt.
Prospect Community Band. Ms. Langenberg has also appeared on stage with
Josh Groban, Mannheim Steamroller, Yo-Yo Ma, Rene Fleming, Emmanuel Ax,
and Itzak Perlman.
Kelly’s
continuing passion for orchestral music study has taken her to the
Blossom Chamber Music Festival (2008, 2007), Aspen Music Festival
(2006), Pierre Monteux School for Conductors and Orchestral Musicians
(2003) and the Chautauqua Institute (2000). Kelly’s most influential
teachers include Neil Kimel (Lyric Opera), Dale Clevenger (Chicago
Symphony), and Jon Boen (Lyric Opera).
Kelly
is Applied Music faculty at North Park University and also teaches horn
at DePaul University’s Community Music Division and the New Music School
in Chicago. Kelly is a member of the Chicago Horn Consort and State
Street Brass Quintet.
Ms.
Langenberg earned a BME and BM from Baldwin-Wallace College
Conservatory, and a MM in Horn Performance from De Paul University in
Chicago, IL.
When
not performing or teaching, Kelly enjoys spending time with her
tuba-playing husband Jim, and crafting hand-made greeting cards.
