Dillon Schuneman: Piano

Dillon Schuneman is a 16-year-old sophomore at Sterling High School, where he is active in several service and social organizations including the local Peer Jury, and a tutor for middle school students after school. He is a member of the speech team, and a mallet percussionist in band. He performs regularly for his church, at retirement homes, and at Woodlawn Arts Academy.

He is the son of Richard and Janice Schuneman, and the younger brother of Trevor Schuneman, all of whom, Dillon says, "are very supportive, push me to try new things, and tolerate my excessive practicing."

He began piano lessons around age 6 with Nan Schuler, and has been a student of Rhonda Hulteen for the past 3 1/2 years.

It's a little early for college plans, but options might include music.

Dillon will perform the first movement from Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16 with the Orchestra.

Biographical material and photo are provided by Mr. Schuneman.
